Only a few years back, Maruzen Sangyo Co., Ltd. used to build various kinds
of single cylinder hosiery knitting machines mainly, such as, jacquard
hosiery knitting machine with pattern drums, dial and needle cylinder machine
for lacy socks, spiral hosiery machine, a true Argyle socks knitting for
producing socks with overchecked solid colour diamond patterns. It is therefore
thoroughly acquainted with the patterning mechanism employed for the knitting
machinery. In developing the computerizing equipment, it has solved lots
of technical problems in electronic and mechanical respects to complete
practical heavy duty
equipment, while embracing all the experience, knowledge and skills obtained
through building of the knitting machinery.
The equipment can be available for computerizing not only the machines
of first hand but also the machines with mechanical patterning device already
running in the hosiery factory. The machine with mechanical patterning
device is limited in the pattern area and number of patter yarns available
for creating pattern designs. In changing pattern designs, moreover, it
is true that it usually took two days or three at least even for an expert
knitting mechanic to complete the job.
Some 8.000 and odd units have been manufactured and delivered since it
was developed in 1983 to customers in Japan, America, Italy, Korea and
China and other Asian countries for computerizing large and small diameter
circular knitting machines centering primarily on the half hose knitting
machines, circular piece-goods jacquard knitting machines and garment length
machines.
